What’s New in 2025?
The Skilled Worker stream now consists of three distinct pathways:
1. New Brunswick Experience
Full-time, non-seasonal job with an eligible employer
At least 6 months of continuous work with that employer
Must have lived in New Brunswick for the last 6 months
2. New Brunswick Graduates
Graduate from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in New Brunswick
Program must be eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
Must be working or have a job offer for a full-time, non-seasonal role
3. New Brunswick Priority Occupations
Must have a job offer through a government-led recruitment mission
At least 1 year of related work experience
Currently not accepting EOIs under this pathway
NOC Codes That Are Not Eligible
New Brunswick is not considering EOIs for jobs under the following NOC codes:
Administrative Roles: Accounting technicians, bookkeepers, administrative assistants
Retail & Food Services: Retail managers, restaurant managers, supervisors, cooks, bakers
Hospitality & Customer Service: Bartenders, front desk clerks, servers
Processing & Labour Roles: Food processing workers, seafood plant labourers

✅ Eligibility Requirements

Education
You must have successfully completed a program at a New Brunswick Designated Learning Institution (DLI) that is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
Your education must meet the NOC requirements for your job.
Employment
You must be working full-time (30+ hours/week) in a non-seasonal position with an eligible NB employer who is willing to support your application, or have a confirmed job offer.
Language Proficiency
You need CLB 4 or higher in all four skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
Exemption: If your job is NOC TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3, and your study was in English or French, then language test results aren’t required supervisas.com+9www2.gnb.ca+9immigration.ca+9.
Residency & Intent
You must have the intent and ability to settle in NB permanently.
You must be at least 19 years old.
Residency Requirement
You are required to live in NB, but the guide doesn’t specify a strict timeframe—so confirm this in the full guide canadavisa.comcanadavisa.com+2www2.gnb.ca+2immigration.ca+2.
🚫 Ineligibility – Must Not:
Be currently enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies (anywhere in Canada).
Have an active immigration application under another Canadian province or territory.
Have been refused for misrepresentation in the last 5 years.
Be living unlawfully in your current country.
Have been refused admission to Canada (or asked to leave).
Be unauthorized in Canada (working/studying without permission).
Have an active or refused refugee or humanitarian claim in Canada canadavisa.com+11www2.gnb.ca+11canadavisa.com+11.
📑 Required Application Documents
Diploma/transcript (official) from NB DLI.
Job offer or employment letter/contract, along with NB-004 Employment Form.
Language test results, unless exempt.
Documentation demonstrating your intent to live in NB.
Proof of being 19+ years old.

🏠 New Brunswick Experience Pathway – 2025
The New Brunswick Experience Pathway is designed for foreign nationals who have gained work experience in New Brunswick and wish to transition to permanent residence. This pathway is part of the New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream, which aims to address labor shortages by retaining skilled workers in the province.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the New Brunswick Experience Pathway, you must meet the following requirements:
Employment in New Brunswick
You are working full-time in a non-seasonal position for an eligible New Brunswick employer who is willing to support your application.
You have been working full-time for the same employer for at least 6 consecutive months while also living in the province.www2.gnb.ca
Age
You must be at least 19 years old when submitting your application.
Language Proficiency
You must demonstrate a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 in all four language abilities (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) in either English or French.justforcanada.com+1immilib.com+1
Education
Your education level must meet the requirements of your position in New Brunswick. If your education was obtained outside Canada, you may need to provide an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).justforcanada.com+1immilib.com+1
Intent to Reside in New Brunswick
You must have the intent and ability to settle in New Brunswick permanently.
📄 Application Process
Expression of Interest (EOI)
Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Immigration New Brunswick (INB) portal. EOIs are placed in a pool and remain valid for 365 days.
Invitation to Apply (ITA)
Immigration New Brunswick will review submitted EOIs and issue Invitations to Apply (ITAs) only to selected individuals through scheduled draws. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee an invitation.www2.gnb.ca
Application for Nomination
If invited, submit a complete application for provincial nomination, including all required documents and forms.canadim.com
Permanent Residence Application
Upon receiving a nomination certificate, apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residence under the provincial nominee program.canadim.com+2www2.gnb.ca+2www2.gnb.ca+2
📌 Important Notes
EOI Validity: EOIs remain valid for 365 days and are not processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Draws: Invitations to Apply (ITAs) are issued through scheduled draws only.
Restricted NOCs: Certain National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes are not being considered for this pathway. Please refer to the official guide for the list of restricted NOCs.
