Avoid These Universities in Canada
What is Public-Private partnership College and how to avoid them
I call myself an educational content creator when I am the worst procrastinator. I have been meaning to write this newsletter for a long time. Everyday I sit with my notebook to find myself sketching random people only. Now let's cut to the cheese. Today I want to share what universities to avoid when you want to study in Canada.
What is Public-Private Partnership Institution?
The first kind of University is to be avoided at any point. These are Public Private Partnership universities. Crandall University, Canada west, Concordia University of Edmonton are fully functional private universities. They are good to go for a MS degree. These will not fall under public private partnership ban. The Public Colleges like Algonquin College, Fanshawe College, Lambton colleges etc. are the public colleges in Ontario. They charge almost three times tuition fees from international students than from local students. Good quality local students don't even go there. Once these institutions started earning a lot of revenue from international students they saw it as a business opportunity and tried to exploit them. Now in Canada you have a certain number of students that you can enroll in a certain campus. These colleges were enrolling more students they could accommodate in their main campus. In order to accommodate the extra international students they created a partnership with the private colleges like Stanford college. Ilec college, CDI college, Tios college etc. These private colleges have a substandard campus, poor learning facility, they don't even have the permission to bring international students. Just by affiliating with a public college now they can house international students using the public colleges brand name. A student who is paying the same tuition fees to study at these partner colleges has no way of getting the same facility as the student who is studying at the main campus. This is a massive exploitation. Indian and Bangladeshi agencies are highly incentivized to enroll unaware students to enroll into these substandard quality institutions. Now the Canadian government will put an end to this. I have found some names. I am going to list them here. But if you were my friend I would never recommend you going to any kind of college. Be it grad or undergrad level. Please value your parents' hard earned money and invest in some decent quality educational institutions.
Stanford International College
Ilac College
CDI College
Trios College
Acumen Academy
Toronto business College
Canadian College of Technology and trades
Cambrian College
Hansen College
Queens college affiliated with Lambton
Alpha College of Business affiliated with St Lawrence
Roberson College
Algonquin college North York Campus
Cambrian College Brampton, Mississauga Campus
Fanshawe College
Sheridan College
Fleming College all Toronto Campus
Georgian Campus
Lambton College, Mississauga
Loyalist College Victoria park
Mowhak College
Northern College.
These are the colleges that you should avoid at all costs. The main campuses do have the permission to enroll international students and students can get work permits. True, but I am extremely offended by these rapacious institutions who have no concern for the international students. Please avoid all their sub branches including the main branch in future because you deserve better.
PGD vs MS
I am usually ok with PGD courses offered by the universities. There are some good quality PGD courses offered by the Universities like Winnipeg. I have sent about a dozen students there with families before. Since the Canadian government is preventing PGD course holders from bringing families, from now on if you have families to bring MS is the only option for you. Avoid PGD,
Should you Apply to Ontario or British Columbia?
I have seen some youtuber spreading fear and wrong information saying the Canadian govt will not issue any visa if you want to go to any institution in Toronto. They also have maintained that British Columbia has stopped taking international students. These are all wrong information. Wish I could slap some of them. Ontario and British Columbia have some of the best universities in the world. They will never stop enrolling quality international students there. The institutions like University of Toronto and University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University are the pride and glory of Canada. International students are the biggest assets when it comes to the research and development of these universities. They will have to stop their research and development if they stop taking international students there. So people please calm down. Don't just come to Canada or any other country because you want to live in Bidesh. Enroll in an institution you and your family are proud of. I don't think any other student consultancy service in Bangladesh is helping students prepare for the best Canadian universities other than me. If you don't want to see yourself in a laili mojnu college with zero future don't go to an agency affiliated college. If you need my help to choose the right university or apply for a visa shoot me an email. Thanks.
Nice job on the newsletter and the information shared. However, in the last section, the remark about wanting to slap someone, regardless of their misinformation, appears unprofessional and inappropriate for a platform like a newspaper. It's crucial to maintain a professional tone, separating personal opinions and emotions from the content. I hope you get the hold of giving constructive comments while upholding professionalism, ensuring your audience takes away positive insights from your articles.
Do better!
Thank you Apu
